LOCATION:

             Saddle Lake (298 acres) is located in South West Michigan, 14 miles East of Lake Michigan and 30 miles West of Kalamazoo. It is approximately a three hour drive from Chicago or Detroit off Interstate 94. Meeker’s Haven is a two story cottage with three bedrooms and a bath sitting 40 feet from the shore.

 ITEMS PROVIDED:   

• fully stocked kitchen including microwave

• blankets, pillows, and sheets for two queen and four twin beds plus a crib

• TV, VCR, books, puzzles

• paddle boat, aluminum row boat, canoe and dock

 DON’T FORGET TO BRING:

• food items

• bath and beach towels

• insect repellent, sunscreen

• charcoal and lighter fluid

 MISCELLANEOUS:

• There is a phone for your convenience.

• No smoking inside the house.

ACTIVITIES:

 Kal-Haven Trail is a bicycle trail from Kalamazoo to South Haven on what used to be the railroad route. The trail crosses 51 1/2 St. approx. 3/4 mi. from the house.  (No motor vehicles allowed.)  Passes can be purchased from the stores in either Bloomingdale or Grand Junction or the Visitor’s Center in South Haven.

 Sherman’s Creamery (South Haven) has the best ice cream around and the local “hot” spot on a Sunday evening, though good anytime.

 U-Pick blueberries in July and August around Grand Junction, the blueberry capital.

 Kid’s Playland in South Haven (near beach)

 Within a 30 minute drive you will find:

• golf courses, wineries

• Lake Michigan at South Haven with its tourist attractions, shopping, boating and restaurants
